Spintronics in unconventional materials systems

The development of charge-based devices in today’s information and communication technologies is fast approaching its fundamental limits. Spintronics is among the most promising alternatives. Its paradigm-changing nature lies in directly controlling and utilizing the spin degree of freedom.

Our group explores spintronic phenomena in novel and unconventional materials systems. For this, we investigate the underlying fundamental physics and develop devices based on the unique material features. Our focus currently lies in two main areas:

  • Hybrid molecule – magnet systems
  • Antiferromagnets
